Accoutre Turns Four!
A Journey of Growth and Community
Accoutre celebrates its fourth anniversary! It’s incredible to think that what started as a group of friends brainstorming around my kitchen table has blossomed into a vibrant community. In these four short years, we’ve reached a significant milestone. From humble beginnings, Accoutre now boasts:
- A talented team of 18 teachers
- 4 dedicated bank staff members – with more on the way
- A stellar administrator who keeps us sailing smoothly
- Our very own Instagram guru
- A committed committee that convenes quarterly
- A group of visionary consultants infusing fresh ideas and immense value
Triumphs and Transformations
The past year has been particularly momentous, marked by milestones and new ventures:
- We had the honour of meeting Merton’s Mayor, the charming Gill Manly.
- Accoutre was recognised by the Merton Partnership Civic Volunteer Awards 2023, where Sandra Sinclair and I received certificates for our volunteering efforts in and beyond Merton.
- The King’s Coronation was a historic event we celebrated by taking a day to immerse our students and staff in the live ceremony and local festivities.
- Our Black British history sessions saw a refresh with new speakers, addressing both historical and contemporary issues, from Notting Hill Carnival to modern-day inventors, spanning past, present, and future.
Here’s to another year of progress, learning, and community spirit at Accoutre. We are 4 years old!
I am enormously proud to say we have been in operation for just over 4 years.
